Fly Fishing

Snowy Wilderness specialises in the angler who is just starting out or wants to learn more.

The lakes and rivers have large Rainbow trout ready to take your fly. We are also stocking Bass, Silver Perch, and Golden Perch.

As well as Adaminaby, there are also advanced fly fishing tours to more challenging destinations such as the Snowy River and Lake Jindabyne.

We know all the secret spots!

Alpine Horse riding

Riding is big in this part of the world, unsurprising when you consider it's the home of 'The Man from Snowy River'.

Guided treks through the mountains, lasting from two hours to two days or more, are a must for horse-fans.
Commercial horse treks through the Snowy Mountains date back to the 1940s. Nowadays, most start with a hearty campfire breakfast, then saddle up and explore undoubtedly some of Australia's most picturesque, inspiring and challenging countryside.

Bushwalking

A bushwalk is probably the best way to enjoy the fresh alpine air, spectacular views and the 'Sound of Music'-style scenery.
Whether you're up for a gentle meander or full on hike, you'll find a walk that suits in the Snowies. Our scenic roads will take you to some of the country's most impressive scenery and past historical villages rich in tales of the Man from Snowy River, gold-rush days or the Snowy Scheme.

Abseiling, Climbing and Caving

Never thought you'd try this?

Now's the time and the Snowies are the most beautiful place to do it!
All abilities are catered for in the state's premier adventure playground.

The Snowies boast some of the best adventure specialist companies in the country, staffed by trained and safety-conscious professionals.
Under their watchful eye, the uninitiated can learn how to climb a rock face, abseil into a gorge or try ice-climbing.
